All I can say there is that I am _not_ going to dial 4000 1-800 calls to
register all the PCs here at UAB that are not able to connect to the outside

We don't do proxies for every silly service someone can dream up.  Otherwise
the firewall becomes pointless...

That is going to be part of the issue.  Not only is there a technical issue
in upgrading to XP,  Now there are additional technical issues to get the
product activated.  We have a departmental firewall.  The campus has a border
firewall.  The hospital side has their own firewall.

We are looking at this pretty carefully right now, in fact, and are seriously
considering whether windows has a place in our labs or not.  It's an interesting
question.
