What I like is the catch-22:

1. "Windows cannot install this program until you remove the previous version."
2. "Windows cannot remove this program.  Please insert the installation disk."

The Windows installer is the biggest hunk of junk ever foisted upon the poor,
ususpecting public.

"The users are idiots.  Let's protect them from theirselves."

Unfortunately, it appears that the Windows installer designers were even bigger
idiots.

Don't get me wrong.  I like a lot of Microsoft's stuff -- despite the incredible
popularity of MS-bashing.  But the installer has never been anything but pure
irritation for me.
