One thing that might help: for years, I've been running CleanSweep, which watches installations and can tell you EVERYTHING that changed on your system (including registry entries) and can completely reverse an installation. It's been very helpful to me for years and years. [I have an ancient version installed currently, which will no longer work when I upgrade from Win98se to WinXP. I have purchased the latest one, which is a part of Norton SystemWorks 2002, and plan to upgrade to that as soon as I upgrade to WinXP.]
