I've seen something similar with Shredder 5 (sorry, not exact positions right
now) where the analysis line after the first few plys was anything but the best
moves.

So, is this a widely known design decision?  Wouldn't it be better not to
display such analysis?  i.e. is there any point in displaying analysis which may
or may not be garbage?
