Hi Jonas, what a mega-thread... :) >>besides... isn't >>[D]rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq - 0 1 >>the most equal term ? >> >>:) >>P.S.: Okay, you could also think about 7k/8/8/8/8/8/8/K7 w - - 0 1 thats even >>more equal... :) I just add this not to get it as an answer... :) >Yes it is the most equal term if you disregard wether your opponent is human or >comp! but why disregard ? In my opinion preperation against the opponent is a very important thing in chess... and not only in human chess - look at dutch open, Jeroen Noomen has 20 opening books with him, for almost any opponent a special book for black and white... isn't that kind of preperation ? Before Deep Blue - Kasparov they filled the box with almost anything they know about Kasparov... Kasparov himself has nothing and one of his strong points get stolen - his perfect preperation for his opponents. By the way, something different that Eduard has discovered: Shredder 5 could be easylie beaten by him with Trojans, I think he has posted once a game in 120/40 which was a mate in 19. After that SMK released Deep Shredder which has some anti trojan code in it... The fun was: Yes, Deep Shredder was not so easy to beat with trojans - but it also does not take the knight if it SHOULD take the knight... :) Has anyone tested if Crafty shows some similar behaviour ? Ah, and by the way, in my opinion a real step forward in computer chess would be, if computers themself start to offer trojans... that would be extremely cool... :) A comp that plays so called anti comp strategies... :) Greets, Thomas
