Forget the benchmarks. The only important benchmark for us programmers is our own program. Before this years Paderborn tournament I compared the nps of Patzer on PII300 and Alpha 600, looking at the positions where Patzer had left book in Paris, so I could also compare to a K6-200. A k6-300 would be faster than PII-300 *for Patzer*. The Alpha600 was like a Pentium 600 *for Patzer*. Ulrich also made comparisons. Comet was not as pleased as Patzer with the Alpha, because Comet is 32 bit and Patzer 64 bit. So it depends on your program. Roland
