Forget the benchmarks. The only important benchmark for us programmers
is our own program.

Before this years Paderborn tournament I compared the nps of Patzer
on PII300 and Alpha 600, looking at the positions where Patzer had
left book in Paris, so I could also compare to a K6-200.

A k6-300 would be faster than PII-300 *for Patzer*.

The Alpha600 was like a Pentium 600 *for Patzer*.

Ulrich also made comparisons. Comet was not as pleased as Patzer
with the Alpha, because Comet is 32 bit and Patzer 64 bit.

So it depends on your program.
