Why isn't there a playoff between the World Computer Chess Champion and World Microcomputer Chess Champion to determine the ultimate Champ? The idea of having more than one champ, particularly when the playing strength of mainframes versus micro may not be significant. If Deeper Blue is not reassembled then I suspect the micro will be able to hold its own against its mainframe rival. Fritz 3.10 proved this point in 1995. The only criteria is that each program plays on the platform used in their respective world championship tournaments. Any comments please Regards
