Going from P3 733 to a P4 1.7, Crafty got 1.2x faster when all other chess programs I have (including Fritz 6 and Yace) got at least 1.5x faster. This shows that Crafty does worse on a P4 than other chess programs, and so it would bias the result of SpecInt2000. I agree though that Athlons are generally faster than P4s for chess, but not by _that_ much. Maybe the newest Athlon is much faster than the newest P4, but once a new P4 comes out, it will be close again. Koundinya
