You remember correct.

And being a commercial you are an easy target, as proven.

The rules provoke incidents like this.

I have no single doubt about Amir's integrity in the case but you never know for
sure how such gossip will develop and how stubborn its life will be. Best
example: Kasparov - Deep Blue, 1997 and Kasparov's accusation of cheating.
