Subject: How to create Crafty book from Large PGN database

How do I convert Crafty "Large" PGN database to book. I have the Crafty
instructions and files but don't know how to use Crafty as an executable as
follows:

crafty
book create <filename> 60 3
quit

Is crafty.c an executable? Obviously not DOS or WIN, am I right?
