My method is as follows: 1) Completely discard any position that hasn't resulted in a couple of wins, and some minimum number of games. This tends to prune out unique games, and gets rid of some duplicates but not all. 2) Discard positions that don't score above a certain percentage. I don't remember what this percentage is, but it doesn't matter much. If the humans score 25% in one line, it is probably bad. 3) If a line scores well, pretend it has been played more often than it has. 4) If a line scores not so well, pretend it has been played a litle less than it has. Then I just decide based upon frequency of appearance. So less common high-scoring lines tend to get played more than they otherwise would, and you see a little less of the common stuff that doesn't score very well. I used to have a very bad book, but now I think my book is fine. I rarely come out in a really bad position anymore. bruce
