There is no more chess talent per citizen in the US than anywhere else. I think there are many countries that have a better culture for making good chess playes. It is not about money at all. And even if it is, there are _many_ _many_ countries where there is a far bigger percentage of people that have "enough" money to have a good life, than the US. The US has a lot of poor people. Many countries don't. /David
