In the case you illustrated, the black knight just put the white king in check. If the white king does not move or the white bishop does not capture the black knight then any other mover by white is illegal. For example: lets suppose that you moved you white pawn. Then the black knight would capture your white king and the game would be over because the white king is now dead and his army dies with him. Black does not have to worry about the white bishop after capturing the white king because the game is then over and white can not make any more moves. Bill
