Subject: virtual chess 64

I just purchased Virtual Chess 64 (Nintendo).
It has enough bugs to make me seriously consider returning it.
Just wanted it for an amusement, it only looks at 3000 positions per second,
according to the manual.

It seizes up if you try and back up the moves, or when you move too quickly in 4
vs. computer mode.

I've seen screens with mostly kings on the board, though the former pieces still
move around as they did before, pieces move as other pieces, etc.

The graphics are limited to something less than 40 or so short, violent scenes,
which is tasteless enough to prevent one from buying it for a 4-8 year old.

This post is simply to help the odd consumer decide.

What a pity, the software designers need all the encouragement they can get,
looks like they rushed this one out too soon.

One can set up positions, but one doesn't learn any of the lines that the
computer is considering. No infinite mode, max is 3hour mode.
