The truth is that it works for a > few doublings, then there is a diminishing return. There is another possible theory 1)70 elo per doubling is truth for the new programs and for Novag Expert is was less than 70 elo per doubling. 2)The top programs can have more than 2680 in comp-comp games if you assume correct rating for novag Expert against humans.
