If he writes down the moves as they are played it's OK.
However he could simply ask Tiger to do it for him, as Chess Tiger for Palm
saves games in PGN to the MemoPad application.
This has 2 advantages (at least):
1) games are automatically saved to the PC when you press the "HotSync" button
(and then you can copy/paste them to your favorite PC chess program).
2) they are in human-readable form. You can view them with the MemoPad
application, which is the same as the NotePad application under Windows.
