If you asked me 2 years ago, I would have said computers are not of GM strength. If you asked me 1 year ago, I would have said there's not enough data yet to make a conclusion one way or another. I think today, the issue is clear, and I think it will be hard for a GM to score a win vs a recent program on top hardware. The programs keep improving at a rate of 40-70 elo per year. Hardware keeps doubling speed 1.5 year (add another 30-40 or so ELO because of that) With at least 70 elo gained per year, this is a logical progression. Since Gulko is rated 2600, I predict the match will be close. -- GCP
