When I started playing chess on the PC I had a 386. I had Grandmaster and Chessmaster. I could play competitively, but usually lost. My next computer will probably be faster than a Pentium II 400. At 1 second per move, the 400 will be equivalent to about 3 min per move on the 386. That doesnt give me much of chance, especially if I want to play speed games. I humbly request that future chess programs allow time controls <1 sec per move so average players like me can have the satisfaction of kicking their butts once in a while. Sure, I can win by playing against weak modes, but its not as fun. Vince
