You are right the GM had wisely changed his strategy,but please notice that
Shredder 6.02 and Fritz 7.006 are able to open the game with 15.b6!.

Both programs will play this move one move later too.Only at move 17 it is only
Shredder6.02 that is trusting in the strongness of opening lines.
