This way of doing it will find most forced mates very quickly. However, VERY tricky mates can be found faster using the "Solve for Mate" mode, which basically does a brute force search with no extensions (similar to Chest and other mate-solving programs). This is guaranteed success if a mate exists (within the number of moves specified by the user), but it will almost always take much longer than the first method. jm
