No, you said you wouldn't have to play a GM.  I said you would, because the
"category" of a tournament and the required score in that event pretty well
guarantees that.  That is the "purpose" of the required norm score in a
given category event...

If you only have 2300-2400 players, to get a GM norm you would have to have a
nearly perfect score.  If not a perfect score.
