It either says that you know nothing about this subject, or you are an extreme beginner. I play maybe a couple games a month on Yahoo when I'm just bored, and I'm not that great of a player. I'm rated aroun 1800 on Yahoo, and it would take me probably a day or two to get my rating over 2100 on Yahoo. 2100 on Yahoo isn't saying much, and I don't think that 99% of the people over 2100 are computer programs. I wouldn't even say 50% are. When you KNOW that a player is using a program is when they have a record of something like 10,000-0 and have a rating of like 40,000. 2100 is nothing on Yahoo and any intermediate level chess player could acheive such a rating on Yahoo. Yahoo is overrun with beginners, and that's why I like to play there when I do play. If I wanted to be serious about chess, I would probably play on ICC. I do agree with you that there are very few serious players on Yahoo. But that's not all bad. People who just want a casual game for fun here and there need some place too, and they're probably not going to pay money for that. Russell
