Sandro, >So, now consider that in my book there are more than 150.000 variations and >that they have all been selected checking them sometimes several times as >theory develops every day one can understand what a work has been done. This is >totally different than just making a database from available games. It's hard to say what I want to say without sounding critical, which I am not - so here goes. How do you hand check 150,000 variations? You say you have been doing this for 24 years and 1000 hours per year that 24,000 hours. Can I take it that you average six variations per hour!!! This would seem like a huge amount of work -which it undoubtedly is but I guess I assumed that you'd start from a base of PGN generated line. Is it really all hand checked? How many positions does this correspond to? Regards, Steve
