Slater is very right.

I tried XP2000s here. one of them stopped working.
shipped them back to importer.

with all respect only dickheads post onto the fora where they
claim XP works. I don't doubt that from the wafers with MPs
pressed, a few got stamp XP instead of MP.

i bet you don't know how to put an extra L5 cache onto the chip
and then enable the bridge on default XPs.

I for sure do not know how!!!!

the average XP chip is missing HARDWARE onto the cpu to work SMP.

in 2cpu.com all the idiots there, some real 'learned and studied guys
with 40 years experience' told me i was an idiot who should buy
a better power supply.

However the so called bad (and very cheap) PSU i have can deliver 216
watt for cpu's, whereas they just eat like 70 each.

So plenty extra left.

Another one suggested taking a new bios, which was a good tip actually,
but i already had done that.

What really amazed me was that when i put in 2 XP cpu's that one of
them fried the other. I already had a similar thing with tbird cpu's.

they have major bugs with MP cpu's. They are simply more expensive
because when testing chips for being MP capable they must fry a
bunch of them.

If you try non-tested cpu's to run them in parallel you risk frying them
if it's K7s.

Well frying is not a good word actually. They simply don't work anymore.
Something internal in the cpu breaks.

I do not know what or how.

I just know that when i tested them one by one, that one of the XPs worked
and the other didn't. So i returned both of them.

Then i tried another 2 XPs. SAME THING. didn't work at all. returned
both of them and then new i needed MPs.

The idiots at 2cpu.com and other sites, it's like soccerplayers
telling you how to write a chessprogram. They know shit, they will
know shit, and the
dudes who know everything about AMD cpu's, they won't tell a thing
negative about it, because they aren't allowed as they are under NDA
and even worse contracts, which means they must give out positive info
or they get sued.

Buy MPs.

Just the fact that MPs have a different stamp already says enough
that you need special tested versions of the cpu.
