you are the naive person. i tested a load of XP processors. 4 in total.
none worked. now it appears they actually take away the L5 cache.

Only the first few series worked.

You of course also 'forgot' to look at the processor die what
the serie number said i bet.

Also you didn't look whether the right bridge was on the XP chip or not.

You just were lucky it was the first of the series.

Seems they dumped the first few series MPs and later removed some
bridges and caches.

It's naive to say XP works SMP without saying it's an XP which failed MP
test at intel factory.
