Thorsten I am begging for an explanation that is logical. I run Hiarcs 8 in the Junior 7 GUI because the Fritz 7/Shredder 6/Hiarcs 8 GUI is junk. It has too many bugs for me to deal with when using auto232. I run ALL Chessbase programs in the Junior 7 GUI with no problems. I run Shredder Classic in the Shredder Classic interface since it is almost a trouble free GUI. I run Tiger/Gandalf in the Chesspartner GUI because that's the only choice I have. I run Crafty in a DOS box using Remi's auto232 system which works very well. I am using Hiarcs 8 with default settings and it's own book. Now if this is wrong then tell me. If you can compare your Hiarcs 8 to some of my (many) posted games and find something wrong then tell me. If all you have is nonsense theories and snide remarks then I'm not interested. If you can post many games where Hiarcs 8 is winning over some of the top programs then do so or email them to me. But all of the games not just the ones that Hiarcs wins. I have posted many games here showing Hiarcs 8 getting beat bad by almost every top program I have. If you have different results then post them. I will be very happy to see Hiarcs winning some matches. I am a Hiarcs fan but a very disappointed one at the moment. So far the only match I have seen Hiarcs winning is the engine/engine matches on one computer with ponder off. I am switching to the Hiarcs 8 GUI tonight just to make sure it's not a compatibility problem with the Junior 7 GUI but I hold no real hope for that theory. If you have some real helpful comments then they are very welcome. Jim
