It is disapponting to see these problems with CB books and H8. Perhaps H8 engine has some bug in interfacing to the CB format of otherwise fine book (e.g. if it ignores or misinterprets the attributes of various lines). I recall H7 had problems in the initial release with CB format book, it didn't handle usage frequencies (and possibly other attributes of the lines) correctly. Only the maintance release months later had fixed it. It would be interesting to see how it performs against others in the no-books matches.
