I suppose it depends on your talent level. I don't know really, I tried go once
and didn't like it much.

In contrast, how much time do you think I need to learn to play better than the
best chess program if I know nothing about chess? It may take a new go player
weeks or months to be able to beat the best go program. It WILL take a new
player to chess at least many years to be able to beat the best chess programs,
and most likely, it will never happen.
