Chess Informant probably registered for an account here, then put a spambot to work crawling the posts (like any other web site) to find email addresses. My experience with getting spam to addresses on my own Web pages suggests that most spambots only look for mailto: links, not just any text that matches the pattern foo@bar.baz, so (although the horse is already out of the barn now), you might want to change the mailto: links on our profile pages to just plain text.
