Thanks for replying. I have Scid, ChessPad, and ChessBase Light. Insofar as I've
been able to figure out to date, they don't do simple stats on a position just
by pressing a button (analogous to www.chesslab.com) nor for a filtered list of
games. If they do, then I need some specific instructions how to do it.

I'm still almost a beginner with chess database systems. I know how to input
games and setup databases. But I'm still learning about what operations are
available to perform on a database.

Scid will generate an "opening report" for a position which includes some
statistics, plus a lot of other unwanted stuff which I don't see how to exclude.
A negative is that it will only calculate the statistics for the 500 highest
rated games, if I understand correctly, but I want to generate stats for much
larger numbers of games (perhaps over 1,000,000+ games) while ignoring ratings.
And I haven't yet discovered where it will do stats for a list of filtered
games.
