What makes you think that GMs practice with computer programs?
Of all the Gm, IMs and strong players I have spoken with in ICC, and FICS and
chess.net, Bitler, Pawelek, Cuoo, to name a few, they dont like playing with
computer programs, they plainly said playing with a computer program is a bore
even if they beat them. They don't practice with chess programs, but most of
them have agreed to have atleast a reasonably strong chess program, mostly
Fritz, Junior and Shredder, unfortunately few mentioned Chesstiger.

Last week I asked Pawelek (GM) in chess.net to play a few games with a computer
program, he was very nice and agreed to play few games, The progarm was a
dumbed-down version of Crafty, running by the handle "Dingbat", anyways he lost
most of the games, in our lengthy discussion after the game, he agreed that he
doesnt enjoy playing chess programs , because they are just plain boring,
according to him.

I know that database programs are very important tools for GM and alike, but I
am not sure that they are very fond of chess programs.

It's mostly interesting to spectators & kbitzers like us and "WE" are the main
customers. I would buy fritz 8 even if its 1 elo stronger than the previous
version, because I am a collector, and there are many people like me.

For GMs fritz5.32 is good enough to point out most techtical mistakes, they
might have missed out.
