I will not be continuing to develope a tournament in Edmonton for 2003. I was contacted by the University of Alberta games committee to help arrange the event. I will be asking them to take over. My reasons for this started with this thread: http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?241189 by Vicent Diepeveen and the near 30 emails asking if I am Peter Skinner or David Wilke. Someone was actually kind enough to explain to me that Peter used the alias David Wilke here before. I do not know why he would do that nor do I care to know. If I am only going to recieve emails slamming me for trying or accusing me of being someone I am clearly not, I think it is better that I leave the project for someone else to continue. Personally I do not need the crap that has come from me posting and asking for details in what people would like to see. I really wanted to do something like this as this sport amazes me but I honestly do not have to put up with the same crap that drove a good person away from here. Personally those who emailed me and you know who you are should be ashamed of yourselves. The one person that emailed about the Peter vs Pete incident that was _not_ even a board member when it happened should be extremely ashamed. To call me those type of names for something they know _nothing_ about is incredible. This is a sampling of the email in question: "when i attend event in north america it get ruined by me because you stand behind a theif so there you nothing more. poeple like you make me sick to my stomach because you are worthless. you probably want peopel to come to edmonton to steal form them. you are a cock sucker and i will do everything possible to ruin your event. fuck you." The person was not even smart enough to hide from his real email address that he uses to post here and included his name in the field. Due to this I have trashed my plans to host the event. Someone else can take that kind of abuse. I will not. Kevin.
