Nxb2 c3 32. Rxb6 c4 33. Rb4 i don't understand why you suggest this line. e.g 33. ...a5 34. Nxc4 c2 35. Nxa5 c1=Q+ 36. Kh2 Qc5 winning the knight. the only hope for white is that he might have a fortress - but i don't think he has. this is btw what slater posted here (and some more): http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?242648 what i don't understand is why you wouldn't go for 33.Nxc4 c2 34. Rc6 c1=Q+ 35. Kh2. again, white will try for a fortress, and this time i think he has much better chances. unfortunately, black retains the a-pawn - withouth a-pawns this position is clearly a draw. in the final position above, if white could achieve a3, Rf3, Ne5, he would have a safe draw i think. as it is, the white pieces cannot move freely. say 35. ...Qb1 36. a3. i played around with fritz in this position to a draw finally, but that's no serious analysis. but if the other positin with R vs Q is lost, this is the way to go. aloha martin >Regards, >Dieter
