What exactly counts as a threatened square? If, for example, a king cannot legally move into a specific square, is that square still threatened? I have a queen in a4 and king in d5. My opponents king is in e3. Can I legally advance my king to d4 or e4, or do they still count as threatened spaces, even though he can't legally move there. Thanks. Wu-chan
