Has there been any indication that this program is atleast comparable to the lower-end professional engines? ie, Nimzo8, hiarcs7.32, Gandalf5. So far from my private testing, it is playing very good against Fritz7, Hiarcs8 and Shredder6. Aristarch 4.4 vs. Shredder 6.02 = 3.5-6.5 " " vs. Hiarcs 8 = 4.5-5.5 " " vs. Fritz 7 = 2.5-1.5 (so far) Time Control = 40/40 Hash = 100mb EGTB = 3-4-5 men Ponder = off Machine = P III/1Ghz | 512mb SDRAM GUI = Fritz 7 Book = All Program Using Own Default Book. I am not sure, but atleast from my first impression it does'nt seem to play so good at short time control. Also the default book seems too small? It's definately the Strongest Freeware Chess program (Until Ruffian comes out). cheers, pavs
