What is the difference between what you do to get a masters degree and what you
do to get a PhD (other than more school)? Does a person earning a master's
degree write a thesis and a person earning a PhD a dissertation? And what's the
difference between a thesis and a dissertation?

I like this paper (the first half that I've read so far). I'm not quite sure
about some of the things he says though. He talks about how his program gets 100
Knps, and how it *could* be three times as fast if it were written in assembly,
but I find that hard to believe, since then it would be getting twice as many
nps as Fritz, and Fritz is a "fast" engine, right?
