Just by way of clarification, ActiveX refers to downloaded objects, which are
provided by Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/com/tech/ActiveX.asp
They are required by some websites in order to access certain features thereon.

So it sounds like an ActiveX object is required to access the CM9000 website at
ubisoft. [That would be a reasonable supposition, but I don't know what their
requirements are.] If so, then they should have offered you the opportunity to
download it. In that case there is usually a popup window asking whether you
wish to download the ActiveX object (or "control"), with the option to respond
Yes/No. If you respond No, then of course the website will not function
correctly.

There is a certain security risk with allowing ActiveX objects, which are stored
on your computer (usually in the c:\windows\downloaded program files folder).
That's up to you to decide. Do you trust them? If so then accept them. Otherwise
you shouldn't...
