Well this is your tournament so you are the boss.

It's no corruption. If you once have turned off the main book Rebel9 has
warned you on exit to save the new settings. If you have confirmed with
YES then next time(s) you play without the main book.

To enable the main book again you either have do:
(a) Load opening book (menu bks) or...
(b) Set "opening book=ON" in menu cfg.

In case of (b) Rebel picks the "path" of the opening book found in the
Rebel configuration file. Of course if you have deleted files, renamed
or moved files or whatever Rebel isn't able to find the requested book
and you need to use (a) "Load opening book".

I checked the other games of Rebel9.

Rebel9 - Chess Tiger 7. b3 but the book says 7.Nc3
Nimzo98 - Rebel9 8..Qa6 but the book says the interesting 18..Ne5
Rebel9 - Socrates the lack of the main book had no influence

I leave the decision up to you. Whatever you do is fine with me. Keep up
the good work. Since CCL times I am aware of all the things that can go
wrong playing comp-comp games.
