With MVV/LVA you can never know if a capture is a losing capture. And only if
the victim is more valuable piece than aggressor , you can be sure it is a
winning capture - in other situations (rook captures rook, knight captures
pawn...) MVV/LVA tells you nothing: it might be winning or losing or even. So
what do you exactly do in phase 5?

And maybe you should consider SEE?
