Cross compilers are out of the question here. Not a chance. Cross compilers require the source code. (At least if you are talking about the porting of a commercial program by some trick). It is possible to run some PC programs under Wine. I will be pretty surprised if that is what is going on here. It is true that you can take a program and edit the internal data strings. But you cannot do it reliably with the format strings (they may be doing internal writes with sprintf() and your changes can cause buffer overflow. In short, I think the author has the source code. So is it a clone of some popular PC program? I think not. The only one with any internal resemblance is Pepito. I don't think it is a Pepito clone. I am very sure it is not a Crafty or Phalanx clone.
