I agree.  The idea of playing 2 games each against 4 top programs is a good one.
 And it would dispel the silly notion that what Kramnik is doing is unique to
Fritz.  He would do the same to any program because they all have the same basic
weakness.  The GM just needs to, as you say, "keep things simple" and he will
draw or win nearly every game.
