I tend to agree with your hypothesis Fernandas, and i think that it is a very interesting point. My personal expierence seems to reflect your own, I can occasionally beat our states top player (2368) because every now, and then i get some kind of tactical shot that because of human weakness the stronger player misses. Against Rebel9 or genius5 out of hundreds of games i have never even once been able to win by a nice tactical combination. My rating is 1888. Also I have played many international masters and two grandmasters, Strangely I did not feel like i was being destroyed like when i play against top programs. Often i would take the superior human player down to an even endgame. Now against rebel9 I am usually dead by move 30, atleast a pawn down! Perhaps that is why I find it so difficult to believe that computers are not grandmasters!!
