   Not necessarily due to bugs or programming errors. For example, if you
increase the value of the bishop, compared with the one of the knight, in the
program, that is intentionnal. As a result, the program will be reluctant to
trade its bishops for the opponent's knights. So, in positions in which the
bishop is stronger than the knight, the result of the program will be better.
But, in those in which the KNIGHT is stronger, the program will be weaker. So,
one must evaluate/decide what are the general characteristics of the positions
in which the bishop is stronger as well as those that makes the knight stronger.
Of course, there are more positions that could favor the bishop, but blocked
positions are good for the knight.
