Hi,

PocketGrandmaster 2.0, a fully featured and strong shareware-chess program
for Pocket PC is now available at

http://www.pocketgrandmaster.com

Installationfiles are available for PocketPCs with StrongARM/XScale,
MIPS and SH3 processors (e.g. iPAQ, Jornada, Toshiba, Cassiopeia) and
PocketPC 2002/Windows CE 3.0.

Most important improvements:

  - more piece sets and squares
  - new engine Ruffian by Perola Valfridsson (in addition to Gromit and SOS)
  - support for the electronic chessboard by DGT (http://www.dgtprojects.com)
  - spoken announcements of moves in Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish
    (with kind permission from DGT-Projects!)
  - training-mode for testsuites
  - new "comment move"-dialog
  - a context-menu opens when you tap-and-hold below the board
  - PocketGrandmaster 2.0 is also available in a German version.

Other features:

  - load "next game" and "previous game"
  - "back to start" and "forward to end" of game
  - send and receive games as mail
  - slightly improved chess engine
  - "highlight legal moves" shows all legal moves of a piece
  - "next move" asks if there is more than one variation
  - "coach" warns when you make a really bad move
  - many improved details and minor bugfixes

Perola Valfridsson has provided a Pocket PC version of his strong chess engine
Ruffian in record time. Although Ruffian looses a bit more speed on the Pocket
PC than other engines, it is one of the strongest chess programs currently
available for Pocket PCs. More information about the PC-version of Ruffian
can be found here: http://ruffian.hkust.se/

Have fun testing it,
