Before I start, let me say that I'm one of these clone operaters. My comptuer

When I started running my crafty account, you had to have a rating of over 2400
or so to play any of the clones. I set up my account in such a way that anyone
registered on ICC can play it (although I change the seeks depending on my
mood). Now, quite a number of clone accounts are set up the same way. Having
only one crafty and a few clones, say Bob, singacrafty and Thoth (being amoungst
the strongest) means that the vast majority of users are screwed. Check out
there formulas. My account has now played over 36,500 games in under a year,
the vast majority against players < 2000, although I know it plays a reasonable
number of FM, IM and GM games. Hey, I've even seen it play Roman. He told me
my opening book was the best on ICC. Man... It's probably geeky to be so happy
about that, but I was. :-)

I also run Diep as well, and spend about half and half with both, except for the
last week or so, as I'm currently toying with opening books stuff.

Do you want the log files? That's a very easy thing to do. I can automatically
email you every log file that gets produced.

When my account's seeks are open, say 5 0 with no ratings, it often plays every
minute of the day against players rated <= 2000, give or take 200 points. I
rarely see every clone sitting idle, just the ones with restrictive seeks and
formulas. If you want to play more often, let more players match you.

Of course, I'm biased, running a clone, who's account I pay for, so take
everything I say in that light. :-)
