Serge I cannot but sympathise with you and with other people that are
experiencing problems with Frits. I dont have any problems with the sound myself
but as I wrote previously on this and other newsgroups... due to serious bugs in
the italian version 5.00 I can't use the sparring function (one of the reasons
for which I decided to buy Fritz instead of Rebel).

I would really have appreciated some "honest" ***independant*** magazine or
reviewer to point out *possible* serious problems in the program **before**
buying it. Unfortunately this did not happen so in the end I'll have to stick to
my buggy Fritz 5.00, without the sparring function and with some other bugs here
and there.

As for the patch.. the company that sold it to me here in italy knows nothing
about it... but I bought the program just 2 weeks ago.. so I **presume** the
cdrom to have been already fixed from bugs.
