Fritz 8 didn't quite have that ELO improvement, mainly because it was >optimized to play against Kramnik. I do not believe that it was optimized to play against kramnik. The result against kramnik was a very bad result for Fritz. It is better to lose the match and not to draw thanks to stupid blunders of the opponent. I do not blame chessbase in cheating because it is clearly possible that kramnik got money to lose not from chessbase but I hope that chessbase will play against another human and not against a human who lost on purpose or at least does not care about losing. I expect every normal GM who care about the result to say that he played an horrible game if he did only one tactical mistake and I do not read that kramnik says it. I expect every human to say that he made a big mistake in case that he resigned in position with practical chances for draw. kramnik did not say it and does not consider resigning as a mistake. Uri
