Thanks for the comparison between the Saitek Cougar model and my old one,
unfortunately the Cougar model according to Saitek has been discontinued. The
only two Saitek table models with any power available in the U.S. are the
"Centurion" and the "Chess Academy" models. The Saitek Mephisto line in Europe
has a great model called "Atlanta" with is 2270 ELO rated but is not available
in the states.

I really want a desk top model versus a palm hand held model so I can take it
with me on weekends and get a better feel for the game. The mobility of a palm
isn't all that important to me....

Maybe I can find a "like new" Cougar on the web.

Also a problem that I have experienced is there is not one retail store in
Massachusetts that carry the Seitek desk top line of chess computers at the high
end. It appears that vendors do not wish to invest in shelf space that doesn't
turn over quickly. Therefore a person can't even see what he/she is buying and
is forced to buy these higher end desk top models off the web.
