I don't understand this bit. I thought most of the professionals had ICC
capability these days? If so, making the program kibitz is literally a couple
of lines of code, if the program is already capable of producing a log file.

But this was always true. And Tiger and Shredder and Junior and others have
participated in the past.

I'm not sure what else you could. If it's not in  the rules, why would anyone
bother?
