It is a rule of thumb. I talk of the number of bugs in the code. Not the instances of them biting you. If your programming is tightly coupled the potential for errors is actually exponential. But since functional style actively discourages coupling it will tend to exhibit a more or less linear occurrence. MvH Dan Andersson
